A Touch of Dutch

This quilt came about because of the lovely little Dutch Girls that my mother used to paint.  She was Dutch herself, and this is a Tribute to her.  She died 12 months ago today.  I made this piece by first doing up watercolour paintings based on her little oil paintings, adding my own touches and additions, then having them printed onto my fabric via Spoonflower.com.  (You might remember in a previous post I showed you the tulips I was painting.) Then I had fun embellishing with free motion embroidery.
If you are going to the Qld Quilt Show next week, look out for it on display.
