I have just completed two small pieces, one an embroidery to be framed, and the other a small quilt. I didn’t set out to do two works, it just so happened that I started one method of construction, which I discarded in favour of another, then when I finished and achieved the first piece, decided to re examine what I had started out making and apply it to a little quilt instead. It is always an interesting exercise to do the same design twice, and I am rather happy with both results. You can decide for yourself which is your favourite. The bird featured is a White Cheeked Honeyeater, and he is on a grass tree stalk in the wallum. I took my reference photo myself in a local national park.
