With Christmas nearly upon us, I was inspired to embroider a piece which featured the beautiful little native wildflower called Christmas Bells. Their vibrant cheerful red and yellow appears so rarely, what with development overtaking their land and that they are one of our species interdependent on fire for reproduction.
Having the Glasshouse Mountains in the background here is a little symbolic, because where you see them from is now farmland, so it was a nostalgic imagination of what that particular spot I was standing on may have been like long before white settlers appeared.
Have a Merry Christmas and New Year to you all, and may 2020 bring protection to our wonderful flora and fauna to flourish and grow for future generations to enjoy.
