O.k., making that first dragon was fun. I wanted to do it all again. This time I managed to sketch a dragon that was less of a copy of someone else’s illustration and put more of myself into the drawing. Added a different colour scheme (which has become my favourite colours to put together) Everything was done to the same size and format as the Red Dragon, but to fit with a more western style of dragon. I have couched metallic thread down his spine, and the diamond squares in the centre of the patchwork blocks are vlisofixed down and couched around with metallic thread. There’s some pretty small pieces in the patchwork, and some of it was strip pieced. The black border arch is part pieced (the straight section) and part appliqued (the curve). The flames are all machine stitched.
